I LOVE THE CODENAMES
And once one of the members of the Codenames said that "EVIL ANIMALS MUST REALLY LIKE US" well you know what they do.. my cat is evil and he loves them as well!
Ok let's start off track by track as usual and tell you WHY you need to BUY this CD!
(damn I've still never seen them live.. I really need to do that!)
The first song BROKEN ARROWS IN THE SAND
starts off in true CODENAMES style with a kick ass guitar groove you can really sink your fangs into.. and then we get the deep voiced almost narration!
true Johnny Cash/George Jones/Luke The Drifter Style with a little David Alan Coe style!
I am forced to love this song simply because they mention JOHN WAYNE, JOHNNY CASH and LORETTA LYNN and a bunch more only true country fans will appreciate!
This is a great story though it really doesn't make sense.. but it does keep you listening til the end!

love the song title! and yes yes 99 percent of all women are EVIL! no wait maybe 100 percent.. this song has such a great garage rock feel to it..

I don't think many people even really remember EVEL KENEVAL (spelled wrong I'm sure) much cooler than that other guy that had the kids show who I can't remember his name now.. but he was star spangled too!

This song is truely amazing.. this should go down in history.. this is definately my favorite song and I don't know anyone who can listen to it with me without doing the hand gesture for revving up a motor bike.. though a GO CART doesn't quite work like that.. man I think I knew the lyrics to this song the minute I heard it.. HELL YEAH.. I could stop the review right now and you'd know why to buy the CD but there is more to come....
THE TERRIBLE THING
I wonder if they're singign about the CHUPACABRA!! (spelled wrong prob again)and tobacco sticks.. I don't think half of america will know what you're talking about guys but this song reminds me of growing up on my grandparents farm.. everyone grew up with a terrible thing..
BIG FOOT MAGNET an unexpected trance like track.. this is definately a song to smoke some weed to.... I mean if you do that!

track 7 THE DAY MOMMA BURNT MY FUNNY BOOKS.. instead of reviewing this song I'm gonna tell a story it made me think of
my dad who died when I was a year and half's sister told me about when they were kids and my grandpa was super religious.. and he found out they had some funny books hidden in the hay loft.. He burnt them all and put the ashes back where the kids had them hidden.. AND never said anything to them about it.. and the kids never said anything back!
Just the fact that they use the term SMACK DAB in the song SMACK DAB makes me love it.. nice to know others say that besides me!
