let me start this review off by saying I am MADLY in LOVE with RAINBOW BLIGHT.. she is the leader of this little band of evil toys and her artwork is amazing.. I LOVE YOU (I say quietly with my devil horns pointing upward and my smile sneaking it's way across my face.. .my eyes fixed devilishly into yours)
enough of that before I excite myself....
Ok...back for a second album we have HATE IN THE BOX
the first was amazing so why shouldn't this one be...
track by track....
PORCELAIN starts off like any kick ass AC/DC song would start up.. but wait.. dark dreery organ chords and that heavy grinding slow torturous guitar.. and yes yes yes that ever so seductive voice.. this will be a dark nightmare we can all pray for.. the toys are back and ready to tear barbie to shreds..
MALEVOLENT SYMPHONY this song would fit perfectly in your toy box RAVE.. very danceable.. you can't help but do that weird little girly goth dance to this.. ok everybody stare out the top corner of your eyes blankly while jerking from left to right front to back...
PAPER CUT KISSES should definately be on a horror movie soundtrack.. maybe we could get them on AMERICAN MCGEES ALICE movie soundtrack which is supposedly being directed by WES CRAVEN..
BLOODY BALLERINA is one helluva romp through the pumpkin patch.. Stomping onward harder than GWEN STEFANI ever imagined (which I hate to say it BLIGHT reminds me of her on some tracks.. but in a good way)
CANNIBALS LOVE SONG kinda reminds me of TYPE O NEGATIVE.. not sure why.. maybe it's that first note that makes me think of MY GIRLFRIENDS GIRLFRIEND.. but when the vocals start it all changes..
LITTLE MATCH GIRL brings in more of an industrial beat.. and that CASTLEVANIA keyboard is awesome.. The guitar is great.. Man BLIGHT is like a fucking SEIZURE that never stops.. I love it...

BROKEN STITCHES REOPENED sounds like it's gonna be one of those great LOVE BALLADS well maybe from PHANTOM OF THE OPERA or something.. definately another great horror movie soundtrack song.. maybe near the end of a movie when we finally get to see the HEROIN DIE!!!!!!!! very beautiful song.. this is one of those GWEN tracks... god this track gets dark (in case you can't tell I'm listening to it right now!)
break out the gothic glowsticks we've got another raver.. CANDY COATED RAZORBLADE makes me want to dance myself around the house while preparing treats for all the naughty little trick or treaters.. HELL YEAH!!!
Don't think that the music is all you get with this CD.. Hell no... put this disc in your CDROM and you'll find all kinds or mp3s OGG files and a great ANIME style wallpaper of BLIGHT!!! the mp3s and OGG files seem to be mostly remixes of tracks on this album.. also you can use this disc to unlock even more secrets on the HATE IN THE BOX web site..
I can say I'm extremely proud of HATE IN THE BOX It's gotten harder for me to compare them to other artists.. which is a good thing.. they're creating a new style.. and it's all HATE IN THE BOX
